Portfolio Monitoring Systems available

Minuteman provides advisors with a variety of portfolio monitoring systems, from active technical analysis to well-diversified passive asset allocation models. All systems are designed to use exchange-traded funds and provide fully automated execution and real-time monitoring. Using the integrated deep-discount broker and custodian*, trade costs per ETF are almost negligible ($1 per ticker up to 200 shares, $.005 thereafter), making each system incredibly cost effective and time efficient. All of the following systems are included in the Minuteman platform.

McClellan Oscillator timing (Active)

First created back in 1969, the McClellan Oscillator is used by technical analysts for measuring acceleration in the stock market. By analyzing advance-decline statistics, it gives overbought and oversold indications, divergences, and measurements of the power of a market move. Minuteman uses daily advance-decline data on the NYSE to determine and automatically execute portfolio shifts between ETFs with long market exposure to the S&P500 Index, cash/cash equivalents, and short market exposure to the S&P500 Index. Once the system is attached to active client accounts, the monitor calculates positions and executes trades without any advisor intervention.

Template target date portfolios (Strategic)

These are a series of passive asset allocation portfolio models that automatically adjust their asset allocation by a predetermined formula each year as the portfolio gets closer to its target date, generally growing more conservative over time. With low transactions and longer time horizons, these ETF models are most often used for pre-retirement investors.

Template risk adjusted asset allocation portfolios (Passive)

Minuteman supplies advisors with a series of 18 template portfolio models. Each model is based on generally accepted principles of risk-appropriate diversification through asset allocation and each uses a maximum of 11 ETFs to achieve its asset allocation. Combined with Minuteman's fully automated rebalancing feature, the result is extremely low internal costs and very minimal advisor action. A risk profile questionnaire that aids in portfolio selection is included.

Custom Asset Allocation Portfolios

For advisors with your own portfolio models and investment strategy, Minuteman offers an ETF platform where you can express your asset management philosophy easily and cost-effectively. Start with one of the provided templates, or build your own asset allocation models from scratch, up to 20 in total. Choose how actively or how passively you want your models monitored. Even making global shifts (sector plays, long or short trends) is accomplished in all your accounts with just a mouse-click, since Minuteman calculates and executes all trades.
